The Genesis of the crisis in Ndop

In the night of Tuesday breaking Wednesday, some unidentified individuals stormed the premises of the French primary school at 'Mumu' quarter in Ndop; doors , windows and benches of some classrooms were reportedly burnt down to ashes.
On Wednesday morning, February 8, 2016 the Fon of Bamunka, allegedly gave the names of some 6 youths to the police believed to be those behind the attempt to burn down the said French primary school. They were quickly picked up by elements of the Ndop district police station.
The arrest of the 6 youths that was masterminded by the Fon of Bamunka we are told provoked anger in other Bamunka youths who then decided to go to the police station to ask for the release of their brothers.
They waited for long hours hoping the police would release their brothers ;but only saw their hopes crashed as the sun threw its last rays on the Ngoketunjia hill Wednesday.
The continuous refusal by the police to release the arrested youths and also claim that they were arrested by security forces from Bamenda, attracted more disgruntled youths to the station. This resulted to violent confrontations between the police and the disgruntled Bamunka youths, Wednesday.
Gunshots were heard, many wounded and more youths arrested. A total number of 25 youths were arrested and taken to Bamenda between yesterday and today.
Today was the turn of the Fon of Bamunka as disgruntled youths could be heard singing songs like " we must burnt the palace, release wa brother, you be na traitor"
Earlier in the day, the governor of the north west Lele L' Afrique ordered for the release of all the arrested youths.
We are told the Fon of Bamunka is just back from Bamenda town, and could only secure the release of 4 out of the 25 arrested youths
